I have read several of Mr. Rushdie’s stories here on Substack, and I doubt that they are that much worse than the common run of stories. For all I know they may not be nearly as bad: I have largely spared myself the annoyance of contemporary fiction. But I do have less bad things to do with my time.

At this moment in time finding your voice on the page and having read several of your books, two several times, Joseph Anton, being a particular favorite, the wave of relief for the short few minutes as I can climb over the jagged thoughts and see a different path,through the mist of my eyes, another most wonderful gift you have given, a time to dream.
