Probably my most envied and favorite book of all time. Unfortunately, it destroyed Herman Melville's career, but it's still the book many Europeans see as the quintessial American novel. Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear Solid, used a whale in Metal Gear Solid 5, in the opening scene. Creative people always realize when the master is speaking to them. And Melville certainly speaks to me as well. That was a good read, but a small criticism: I think maybe putting a little biographic detail to it, like the page could help people unfamiliar to the text could find it. Like where the passage is from in the description could help people see where you are reading from. Otherwise, good job.
I remember when I first read this book. Maybe in 8th grade (in Bangladesh). I first read an abridged version then. The story stayed with me for a long time.

Good point. I've added some words above. Thanks.
You're most welcome. Hope you have a great day and keep up the good work.

Wonderful reading. Good to know about your favourite line: "From hell’s heart I stab at thee”. I never paid attention to this line before.
Amazing ! Your voice vivifies the dramatic encounter. Thank you Rushdie Sir. May God give you good health and long life.
What a treat! I only wish we could hear a reading of the rest of the book from SR!
Splendid reading! Well doneI I could imagine Gregory Peck's surprise at being swept away!
